The Ten-Second Verdict explores how professionals are found, judged, trusted, and remembered online before they ever enter the room. Search results, LinkedIn, websites, old profiles, published work, and increasingly AI-generated summaries all contribute to a picture of who someone thinks you are.
The book is not about becoming an influencer or performing a version of yourself for the internet. It is about understanding the judgments already being made — and making sure the evidence people find is accurate, credible, and recognizably you.

The Layoff Comeback is about surviving professional disruption, rebuilding your identity, and creating a next chapter with more agency than the last one.
It grew out of the question I had to answer after my own layoff: who am I when the title, company name, and career path that used to explain me are suddenly gone? The book looks at the messy middle between an ending and a comeback — the part where confidence, identity, money, grief, ambition, and possibility all show up at the same time.
The verdict and the comeback are closer than they look.
Both books are about identity under pressure. One asks what happens when other people decide who we are too quickly. The other asks what happens when the identity we relied on stops working for us at all.
Perception shapes opportunity.
People make decisions with incomplete information. Understanding that is not cynical; it is useful.
Identity is more fragile than we admit.
Titles, employers, and career paths can become shorthand for who we are — right up until they disappear.
Clarity gives us some agency back.
We cannot control every judgment or every career turn. We can get much clearer about the story we choose to carry forward.
